#07: The Emerald Tablet of Hermes (33:56)

Episode 07: The Emerald Tablet of Hermes

"Truly, without deceit, certain and most veritable." For over 2.000 years, the Emerald Tablet has been the back bone of hermeticism and has inspired countless of derivative works. It captured the imagination of such brilliant minds as Roger Bacon, Isaac Newton, and Carl Gustav Jung, the father of analytical psychology . Today, the Tablet's influence can clearly be seen in popular books such as The Secret and The Law of Attraction.

In this episode, we go beyond "as above, so below" to discuss what else the Emerald Tablet has to tell us about God, the universe, and pretty much everything in between.

Thank you for this podcast! I just wanted to take a moment and let you know your work is appreciated. I have listened to podcasts 1 to 6 more than once. The music you use is great. I like the content and delivery, but I must say that I slightly dislike the short length of the episodes. I understand you have chosen this length for a reason, perhaps you don't have enough time to make longer podcasts. Still, I had to mention it, as it is the only (small) "flaw" I can see about this podcast.

Keep up the good work and please know that there has to be a lot of people out there who appreciate your podcast greatly without stopping here and letting you know: until now I was one of them!

Now I must end this here and go listen to Episode #7. Thanks again for your enjoyable and informative podcast.

      Hi W,

the length of the episodes is something we have discussed amongst ourselves. Originally we planned 15-20 minute episodes but we immediately found we couldn't restrain ourselves to that format. In listening to other podcasts I find the optimal length is about 25-30 minutes for a single topic. Anything longer than that and the delivery tends to drag on a bit. It's good to hear that you don't find half an hour too long. Rest assured, we could talk for hours!

Oh and thank you very much for stopping by to drop us a comment. Much appreciated.

      Fraternally yours,
      Jason

Thank you so much for providing your feedback.

Believe it or not, sometimes I listen to the shows a couple of times. I always learn something new from our discussions.

We realize that no one is going to become an expert at any of the subjects we discuss merely by listening to us rant. However, we hope that we spark and interest here or there in the deeper study of Hermetics.

      Thanks so much for listening!

      Best Regards,
           Sean

In response to this particular podcast, I would love to be able to read along with the translation you are using for discussion, but have been unable to find the exact match. I have searched through the links provided but did not see it. Would you kindly link it to this podcast for we visual learners?

    Thank you!

Taking this magnificent tract and interpreting the instructions as formula for the transmutation of the flesh, one can undergo a personal metamorphoses. The allegory within the biblical statement, "out of clay thou were formed", and "in the image of God", provides us with the proof. We are as living stones and Sons of God. We can make philosophers stones out of ourselves and be the living embodiments of conscious evolution.
