#12: Astral Projection, part 2 - Listener Feedback (38:28)

What is sleep paralysis and how does it work? Can you create your own characters and interact with them in your dreams? Close your eyes and prepare to slide deeper into the world of lucid dreaming and astral projection! In this episode we answer some of the listener feedback that we received on episode 06 and our take on the astral projection phenomenon. Thank you everyone who wrote in with your comments and questions - keep 'em coming.
There are a ton of good resources out there for those of you who are interested in exploring your dreams. In fact, much of the discussion on sleep paralysis was informed by the work of Nicholas Newport over at Lucidology.com. He has some brilliant explanations of how to enter sleep paralysis and how to go from there to full out-of-body. Nicholas has a YouTube channel and a podcast as well.
If you prefer taking in your information printed on dead trees, you may want to look up Stephen LaBerge. He has published numerous books on the subject since the mid-80's, several of which have become standard works in the field. Of course, Stephen LaBerge has a website too.

My first intense obe, was experienced with another present. I kept falling and forced myself to mummble or connect to her that I was in peril, she shook me and said "whats wrong?"I explained to her the falling thing, and asked her to not allow me to fall back asleep, we probobly went thru this seven times or so, eventually it began to happen to her as well, and we found ourselves consciously connected on the otherside, and at the bottom of what ever it was we were falling to,at that point I realised that as a child of GOD there was nothing to fear,(she had the same realization)we both shot straight up (and what seamed to be) out of our bodies, into this palace of many doors. The music I heard was very different, however it was exactly in harmoney with what I was seeing and feeling. we went on exploring for a bit and didn't wake to speak of it until morning. However much of what we both spoke was identicle in content, what veried was in our diciphering of the experience, this happend 36 years ago, thats 2/3 of the life I've lived in this incarnation My first obe's started way before that, as a young child I use to see Leprcohns dancing on the tops of my curtains, If
I wanted to end a dream I would jump into a deep hole and at the bottom was an Owl to who, who, who I would explain my reasons for wanting to leave the dream and then I would awaken. Thanx for another really really great shew!

Hi! Having an OBE together with another person is another very interesting angle that we didn't have time to cover. There are definitely some experiences to be had that can convince you that these are more than just simple dreams. I loved reading about your technique of escaping bad dreams through a hole. What do you think would have happened if the owl didn't approve of your reasons for leaving the dream?
Thanks for sharing!!

Good show. Your comments on the feelings attached to not wanting to tell people about your experiences hit home with me, and helped me to realise why I hate doing it too. I had a vivid precognition dream, fully remembered afterwards, which came true later that day in extraordinary detail. The event was also so unusual that it wiped out any idea of coincidence. This has pretty much changed my world view and opened me up to doing Magick and trying to gain more experiences of this kind.
Looking forward to future shows!

I recently listened to this podcast again for the third time. I just have to say how much I LOVE your show. You both have amazing chemistry (Ha!) together and I find your wit and ability to convey the complex concepts of Hermeticism, it's history, and basic Alchemy pleasing to the ear and the sense.
I wanted to share with you my most profound, and very accidental, lucid dreaming experience. I was about 20 when it occurred and it has stuck with me to this day. In the dream I was standing in a very large library and a man, with a beard, sat at a desk. The desk sat in the center of a large "globe" in the center of the floor- imagine one of those old astrological maps. A light shone on him from above, so everything else around us was very dark save some of the light spilling onto nearby book shelves. It was very "Page Masterish", lol, so I hesitated to take it seriously; until he looked up at me and said "You can go where ever you want to go, but you must be back by midnight."
So I said out loud, "I want to see The Great Wall of China." The library literally sank through the floor and The Great Wall formed around me. I was standing on it, and the sun was rising over the mountains in the distance, and as the stone raised so did I with it and I just stood there in awe for a second, taking in the trees and landscape. "Now I want to go to Tokyo." At that moment the Great Wall sank into the ground and Tokyo sprung up around me, the city with all of it's signs, lamp posts, and people, but everything was grey- as if I didn't have the focus to keep it going and I could tell I was about to lose it soon so I walked up to someone hoping to speak with them- but their words couldn't come out. The city collapsed and I found myself outside of the library, but by the basement window. I opened it and climbed down into it- that's when I woke up.
This dream was so vivid to me and it made me believe there was another world "out there" for me to explore. Since then I'd managed to go outside of our galaxy and gaze at her, and one time I managed to go to San Francisco though I can't recall how I got there. I'd love to get back into Lucid Dreaming and your podcast inspired me to start programming myself again as well as revamping my dream recall.
Thanks for the inspiration and please keep the podcasts going guys!
Yours in the gods,
Kharis
